Diabetes Queensland is encouraging Queenslanders to check their own health risks.
Type 2 diabetes is quickly becoming the health epidemic in our community. More than 190,000 people in Queensland have been diagnosed with type 2 diabetes, and a further 93,000 Queenslanders have the condition but are not aware of it.
The impact on our hospital system alone if $610 million a year. The economic, individual and social costs are greater.
