From the Department of Transport and Main Roads:

Update on the Natural Disaster Relief and Recovery Arrangements (NDRRA) on Beechmont Road:

In addition to the significant 40 metre section of the outside traffic lane between Tarlington Road and Mirani Street which dropped approximately 0.5 metre, geotechnical investigations have identified further damage. The full extent of the damage includes 25 sites requiring repair. The restoration works are expected to include retaining/stabilising treatments at six sites and surface stabilisation treatments at 19 sites.

The design for restoration works for all damaged sites on Beechmont Road is expected to be completed by late October 2017. It is currently anticipated that restoration work on Beechmont Road will commence in December 2017.

The construction works will restore the damaged road and batters to the original condition which existed prior to the event.

More information will be provided to you once a timeframe for construction is confirmed.
