Get Playing Plus has been launched as the newest stream of the popular Get in the Game program and assists with the development of regionally significant community sport and recreation facilities, and Mudgeeraba sporting groups are being encouraged to apply.

Get Playing Plus will provide $20 million in State Government funding over two years to support grassroots sport and recreation by assisting local clubs.

Investments ranging from $400,000 and $1.5 million will be granted for projects that provide new sport and recreation facilities or improve on existing facilities.

Projects that target the increased participation of women and girls, accommodate multi-purpose, shared or co-located facilities, or that involve participation in outdoor recreation activities will be highly regarded.

Get Playing Plus will provide larger scale infrastructure like change rooms, new or upgraded fields, grandstands that are not currently provided by Get Playing.

The program guidelines have a minimum State contribution of $400,000 with a maximum of $1.5 million.

Assessments will be based on need with funding to assist in the provision of such things as community spaces, service population growth, and address outdated infrastructure.

Applications open 10 September and close 20 October at 5.00pm.
