Project info

The Gooding Drive roundabout upgrade will improve traffic flow, capacity and provide overall network benefits, as well as accommodating significant additional traffic on Nerang-Broadbeach Road anticipated during the 2018 Commonwealth Games.

The Gooding Drive roundabout works include:

  • separating through and turning traffic lanes with the addition of a third lane on Gooding Drive east
  • extending the left turn slip lane from Nerang–Broadbeach Road south onto Gooding Drive east
  • providing a new free-flow slip lane for northbound traffic turning left from Gooding Drive west onto Nerang-Broadbeach Road
  • providing partial signalisation on Gooding Drive east and Robina Parkway north for vehicles entering the roundabout
  • increasing pedestrian and cyclist connections by extending footpaths and improving crossing locations
  • providing new line marking and signage to improve ease of movement for drivers.

An additional project to provide traffic signals at the intersection of Palm Meadows Drive/Gooding Drive will be delivered in junction with this upgrade.
