New train stabling facilities at Robina, at the cost of $14.7M designed for four 6 car trains, are being built as part of the former LNP Government’s New Generation Rollingstock (NGR) project in light of a growing demand for rail services.

Member for Mudgeeraba Ros Bates said commuters would benefit from the improved facilities at Robina, which were funded by the former LNP Government but announced by the Labor Government earlier in the year.

After visiting the new LNP funded facilities today, Ms Bates she was proud that the LNP had funded the important transport upgrade for local residents.

“I am pleased to announce Robina train station will see six new stabling facilities built to cater for an increased demand in rail services under the former LNP Government’s New Generation Rollingstock (NGR) project,” said Ms Bates.

“The former LNP Government funded this new transport infrastructure for Robina train station, but as usual, the Labor Party have attempted to rewrite history and take credit where credit is not due.

“The $14.7M new Generation Rollingstock project was fought for, funded and delivered by the LNP, and announced by the ALP.

“Whilst the LNP improved public transport and reduced fares in my electorate, including a 5% reduction in Translink fares and free travel after nine weekly journeys, the Labor Party as usual are simply taking credit for LNP achievements.”
