Services offered by Ros’ office

My office is able to assist local community groups and non-profit organisations by providing free black and white photocopying. Whether club newsletters or flyers advertising community events, we are happy to lend a hand during office hours, with no appointment necessary.

Ros has several 3m x 3m marquee available to community groups for loan. Bookings are essential and you need to get in early to book the marquee with my office on (07) 5601 7100. Ros is more than happy to attend your event or even participate in it. She is also able to assist in media coverage for your local event. Please also remember that Ros and her office staff are often able to source funding for your community groups, so please do not hesitate to contact us.

My office has a number of environmentally friendly bags available for schools and community groups. Please contact my office on (07) 5601 7100 if you require any.

Gift Baskets are available for community groups for raffles or for donations as requested. As these are in limited supply please contact my office to reserve one for your function.

Ros often hosts tours of Parliament House, when in session with school groups and these can be arranged through her office. The office can ensure that Ros is aware of your visit and that your group is acknowledged in the Chamber by the Speaker during Question Time. Depending on Ros’s Parliamentary schedule she is happy to come and have a chat with school groups and organise a photo opportunity with students.

Parliamentary Attendants conduct a variety of tours from Monday to Friday each week that are designed to suit the school groups. The maximum tour group size is 30. Special group tours, for schools and other large organisation group bookings, operate Monday – Friday. The tours commence from the Parliamentary Annexe public entry in Alice Street.

During the tour you will visit the Parliament House foyer with grand staircase, Legislative Council (Red Chamber),the honour boards and leadlight window and on non-sitting days Legislative Assembly (Green Chamber), Mace, Windyarn (the Parliament’s didgeridoo), Speaker and Sergeant-at-Arms costumed mannequins or on sitting days the Legislative Assembly Gallery.

If you are 17 or have recently turned 18, moved house or changed your name, you will need to complete a new electoral enrolment form. Information concerning changes to enrolment deadlines are available from the Australian Electoral Commission website. Applications for admission as a Justice of the Peace or a Commissioner of Declarations require nomination by myself as your State Member of Parliament. Forms are available either by downloading the pdf forms (below) or as hard copies from our office. Once completed, your application will be forwarded to the Attorney-General’s office. Processing usually takes 4-6 weeks and my office will advise you periodically on your applications progress. If you are 60 years or older, you may be eligible for a Seniors Card or Seniors Business Card. These cards provide access to government concessions and business discounts. The Queensland Companion Card program has been introduced for people with a disability with a lifelong need for attendant care support in order to enable them to participate in community life. The program promotes fair ticketing for people who need this kind of support and removes one of the barriers to their participation in activities and events – the expense of purchasing an additional ticket for their companion.

We are happy to provide letters of support to not-for-profit organisations who are applying for government funding. Information we require include the purpose of the grant, organisational particulars and benefits which the organisation and the wider community will gain from the funding.A letter of support request form can be downloaded from the link below or hard copies are available from the Mudgeeraba electorate office. These can then be returned in person, via email, post or facsimile. The applications take approximately 1-2 weeks to process. Please call our office on (07) 5601 7100.

If you or someone you know is celebrating a birthday or wedding anniversary my office can assist you with a letter or certificate of congratulations. We can arrange a letter from Ros, the Premier, the Prime Minister or the Queen to recognise this milestone for you or someone you care for. A Letter of Congratualtions Request form, including eligibility criteria can be downloaded form our site and should be returned to our office by email or post. Remember to allow enough notice time (generally 4-6 weeks).
