MEDIA STATEMENT: Queensland e-commerce exporters get funding boost to help diversify

·         29 Queensland businesses set to expand their global reach.

·         Regional small businesses feature among New Market E-Commerce Program recipients receiving up to $10,000 each in matched funds.

·         Total grant support of close to $285,000 announced.

Local e-commerce businesses around Queensland are being given the chance to diversify their export strategy thanks to Crisafulli LNP Government support.

A total of 29 Queensland businesses will be assisted through the New Market E-Commerce Program, with combined support of $284,200.

The New Market E-Commerce Program offers matched funding of up to $10,000 to assist established exporters to enter new international markets via e-commerce platforms.

Facilitated by Trade and Investment Queensland, the e-commerce grant program supports existing exporters to grow their e-commerce businesses to new international markets.

Minister for Finance, Trade, Employment and Training, Ros Bates, said the program underscores the Crisafulli LNP Government’s commitment to supporting Queensland small business exporters amid global trade challenges.

“At a time of global trade tensions, we’re helping exporters diversify, innovate and succeed,” Minister Bates said.

“By facilitating access to new markets, we’re not only boosting individual businesses but also reinforcing Queensland’s reputation on the global stage.”

Hon. Ros Bates, local Member for Mudgeeraba, said the grant will allow the recipient in their electorate to grow their e-commerce business to new international markets.

“Given the volatility in the international trade environment, this is a timely reminder that the Crisafulli LNP Government has the backs of Queensland businesses,” Ms Bates said.

“I’m proud to see local businesses in my electorate, like Nourish Pet Co., remaining agile and identifying international business opportunities.”

These grants are just another way that the Crisafulli LNP Government is demonstrating that Queensland is open for business – we’re committed to supporting local businesses to thrive on the international stage.
