The Opposition is demanding Labor release the latest health data to Queenslanders and explain why it hasn’t been provided.
Despite the calendar ticking over to May, the Palaszczuk-Miles Government has failed to release hospital figures for this year.
This means that Queenslanders have no idea how their hospital was performing in January, despite it now being May.
It comes as the LNP recommits to releasing health data in real-time within 100 days should the LNP win the next election.
Shadow Health Minister Ros Bates said the Labor Government was in such chaos and crisis that they had completely given up on transparency.
“Dodgy Health Minister Shannon Fentiman said she’d be different to her predecessor Yvette D’Ath when it comes to transparency – she is, she’s worse.” Ms Bates said.
“With the Queensland Health Crisis getting worse under the Palaszczuk-Miles Government, Shannon Fentiman has become less accountable, less transparent and has failed to understand just saying you’re transparent doesn’t make it so.
“She has proven herself to be tricky and slippery when it comes to telling Queenslanders how the State’s public health system is performing.
“Meanwhile, she’s overseen the worst ambulance ramping in the nation and she doesn’t want Queenslanders to know the truth about the Queensland Health Crisis.
“Her repeatedly deceitful actions paint a picture of a Minister in chaos and crisis who has no regard for transparency because she cares more about her own political survival than the survival of Queenslanders.
“Only the LNP has the Right Priorities for Queensland’s Future, like having easier access to health services.
“Our plan to heal the Queensland Health Crisis includes better resources, better triaging, sharing data in real-time and putting doctors and nurses back in charge to improve patient care.”
“Shannon Fentiman must release the health data to Queenslanders today.”
