Motorists will be pleased that the increased speed limit signs from 60km to 70km per hour on the council controlled section of Mudgeeraba Road, between the Worongary Shopping Centre and the Mudgeeraba Showgrounds have now been erected by the Gold Coast City Council.

This follows an historic state wide review of speed limits by the LNP Government announced in June of this year.  It was found that  the speed limit should be increased to 70km/h on Mudgeeraba Road between Worongary Road at the Mudgeeraba Showgrounds and the Worongary Shopping Centre on Gooding Drive, Mudgeeraba.

Motorists who use this section of Mudgeeraba Road will be pleased that the speed limit now reflects the abilities of a dual carriage way road through this section.

It is important to note that the existing 60km/h speed limit for the remainder of Mudgeeraba Rd is to be retained south of Worongary Road through to the roundabout at Exit 79, as this is a narrow two-lane section of road with no upgrades planned for at this stage.
