Springbrook Footpath update:
After years of campaigning, I’m so happy to finally say that Springbrook Road is getting a footpath between Forestry Road and Carricks Road.
The combination of kids walking to school and a lack of footpath along the busy road is a recipe for tragedy in our local area.
Residents have repeatedly told the Department and Council that kids are playing Russian Roulette with vehicles because it is so dangerous.
This result has been a long time coming and is the result of a mammoth effort by our local community.
I have been advised that, pending 50% funding from the State Government, planning will begin in 2020-21 and then progress design will follow in 2021-22 with construction to follow soon after.
Thanks to everyone who joined me in this fight to ensure that our local students can safely travel to and from school. There’s nothing more important than the safety of our kids.
