THE LNP will hold an important Shadow Cabinet meeting in Townsville this week.

It will kick start four days of listening throughout the North with senior members of the Opposition basing themselves in Townsville.

LNP Shadow Ministers will listen to locals about the issues that matter to them, including the Palaszczuk Labor Government’s inability to tackle the youth crime epidemic spreading across the city.

Opposition Leader David Crisafulli said he was looking forward to listening to the people of Townsville.

“When it comes to the crime epidemic, we know the people of Townsville just want to be listened to, acknowledged and see genuine action,” Mr Crisafulli said.

“That’s why we’ve brought our Shadow Cabinet meeting to the city.

“The Government’s adopted our policy to restore breach of bail but that’s just the start.

“We know there’s still plenty more work to do to restore trust in our youth justice system.

“We’ll be speaking to the people of Townsville about our other solutions to combat crime and we’ll be listening to locals about the issues that matter to them.

“Cost of living and the Queensland Health Crisis remain huge issues that are worsening due to the failures of the Palaszczuk Government.

“Queenslanders deserve better and we are ready to listen.”

Shadow Ministers will begin arriving in Townsville today and meet with stakeholders and locals from their respective portfolios.
