Nearly every business owner in Queensland believes they can’t survive another 12 months without stimulus in a damning indictment of the Palaszczuk Labor Government.

LNP Deputy Leader and Shadow Treasurer Tim Mander said the latest Suncorp-CCIQ Pulse Survey for the September Quarter revealed a terrible outlook for Queensland businesses under Annastacia Palaszczuk.

A record 99% of businesses believe they won’t be able to survive longer than a year without stimulus.

“Business confidence in Queensland is shot under Labor, but the LNP will rebuild it,” Mr Mander said.

“The LNP will take direct action to secure the jobs of Queenslanders.

“The LNP’s $300 rego rebate will inject $1.15 billion to stimulate the economy immediately and support local businesses before Christmas.

“An LNP Government will build new roads, dams and bridges across Queensland to create new jobs and drive our economic recovery.

“The LNP will set a 5 per cent target. If you don’t have a target, like Labor, you don’t have focus and you simply aren’t working hard enough.

“The LNP’s target of 5 per cent will mean Queensland’s economy is growing and jobs are being created.

“The LNP will supercharge manufacturing businesses by reducing their electricity costs by 20 per cent.

“We will lower taxes like repealing the grey nomad tax and land tax on build to rent projects.

“And we’ll double agricultural production by 2035 by investing in aquaculture and productivity lifting infrastructure like the x-ray machine at Brisbane fruit markets.

“Only the LNP has a plan that will boost businesses and get Queensland working again.”

Mr Mander said never before were so many Queensland businesses worried about their future.

“When businesses close, Queenslanders lose jobs and the unemployment queue gets longer and longer,” Mr Mander said.

“There are 209,000 Queenslanders out of work right now and this bleak outlook means it’s only going to get worse if Labor are given another four years in power.

“Thanks to Annastacia Palaszczuk, there’s hardly a pulse left in Queensland’s business sector.

“Even before coronavirus, Queensland had the nation’s worst unemployment, worst bankruptcy rate and lowest businesses confidence.

“Another four years of Labor will wipe out a record number of Queensland businesses and push the states unemployment rate even higher.

“The LNP is the only party that has a plan to build a stronger economy and create a decade of secure jobs.
