I AM alarmed by reports regarding the serious escalation in the number of Queensland children impacted by failings at Townsville Hospital.

An independent investigation is needed urgently to get to the bottom of this shocking children’s health failure.

Health Minister Yvette D’Ath must now commit to releasing the full results of an independent investigation.

Queenslanders will not tolerate an inside-job that falls victim to this chaotic Government’s culture of cover-ups.

The investigation must be independent.

Failures within the Townsville Hospital and Health Service audiology department are a much larger issue than the Health Minister admitted to Queenslanders and are another symptom of the chaos and crisis of the Palaszczuk Labor Government.

Now Queenslanders know dozens of children have been impacted by the chaotic Palaszczuk Labor Government’s failure to manage Queensland Health, and there may be more.

How many more children were impacted because the Palaszczuk Labor Government was missing in action while the health of children was left to hang in the balance for months on end?

The first complaints were made in December, yet Queenslanders were kept in the dark for months.

Why didn’t the Health Minister tell Queenslanders about this?
