MEDIA STATEMENT: Statement from the Minister for Water
We welcome Urban Utilities decision to pass on our bulk water price freeze to Queenslanders living in Brisbane, Ipswich, Scenic Rim, Lockyer Valley and Somerset.
The Crisafulli Government’s two-year freeze of bulk water prices will save Queensland families and businesses $130, and both Urban Utilities and Unity Water are now passing on the freeze for water prices to Queenslanders, instead of increasing their margins.
This is one of the ways the Crisafulli Government is delivering relief you can rely on.
The decision by both Unitywater and Urban Utilities to reverse their increases on water prices flies in the face of Steven Miles’ claims.
Under Steven Miles and Labor, Queenslanders would be paying more for their water.
Steven Miles should apologise for misleading Queenslanders.
The Crisafulli Government is delivering relief you can rely on, unlike Labor who left Queenslanders paying some of the highest water bills in the nation.
