THE State Opposition has ramped up pressure on Health Minister Shannon Fentiman, one week after she revealed monthly ambulance ramping data will remain hidden from Gold Coast patients.

Not a single month of ambulance ramping data for 2023 has been released by the Palaszczuk Labor Government.

The most recent monthly ramping data available for Gold Coast University Hospital and Robina Hospital is December 2022, when ambulance ramping reached 41%.

Shadow Health Minister Ros Bates said it’s a deliberate decision to avoid scrutiny.

“Shannon Fentiman is more interested in protecting her image rather than being upfront with Queenslanders in the middle of a health crisis,” Ms Bates said.

“In a week of backdowns and about-faces from Labor Government Ministers, Shannon Fenitman must do the same.

“This important data is critical in shining a light on the ramping issues hindering Queensland’s hardworking paramedics.”

“Ambulance ramping in Queensland has become the worst in the nation under the chaos and crisis of the Palaszczuk Labor Government.

“Leader of the Opposition David Crisafulli has announced a future LNP Government will release hospital data in real-time, and we would fulfill this commitment within the first 100 days of the election.

“As a registered nurse and former hospital administrator, I know how crucial it is for patients and medical staff to have access to this important information.

“You can’t fix what you don’t measure.

“Photo-Op Fentiman needs to listen to Queenslanders and end the secrecy.

“Transparency matters.”
