Labor refuses to update Queenslanders on fake doctor at Children’s Hospital
Wednesday, 16 May 2018
Labor Health Minister Steven Miles today refused to release details of an investigation into a fake doctor who was allowed to wander around the Lady Cilento Children’s Hospital for seven months before being detected.*
Today in State Parliament LNP Shadow Health Minister Ros Bates asked Mr Miles:
“Will the Minister commit to publicly releasing the findings of an internal investigation about a fake ‘Doctor Love’ at the Lady Cilento Children’s Hospital and can the Minister outline what immediate steps he has taken to improve security checks while the investigation is underway?”
“The man in question was charged and convicted but Steven Miles would not even address the investigation or security arrangements when asked in Parliament today,” Ms Bates said.
“The Minister is too busy playing silly political games and picking fights with Canberra.
“Worried parents deserve to have confidence in the major hospital treating our sickest kids.
“The Minister gave no reassurance today that this major security breach wouldn’t happen again.
“Queenslanders deserve a world-class public health system and Labor simply isn’t delivering.”
