The LNP will stop Labor’s Patients’ Tax from hitting North Queenslanders in the hip-pocket, in another significant cost-of-living relief measure.
Shadow Treasurer David Janetzki said it will be stopped before it’s due to commence on 1 July 2025, if the LNP is elected on October 26th.
“The LNP’s plan will save North Queenslanders money and protect local GP services,” Mr Janetzki said.
“Labor’s Patients’ Tax will start collecting from next July and Queenslanders don’t want it.
“The Australian Medical Association Queensland warns it will see an exodus of General Practitioners, make bulk billing unviable in Queensland and increase the cost of a doctor appointment by up to $30 per visit.
“The LNP will Stop Labor’s Patients’ Tax.
“Labor’s tax is nothing but a short-term money grab.
“In the middle of a Health Crisis, the last thing Queenslanders need is extra costs at the doctor, but only the LNP will stop you paying Labor’s tax.
“Only the LNP has the Right Plan for Queensland’s Future and will stop you paying Labor’s Patients’ Tax.
“Labor’s Cost of Living Crisis has left Queenslanders struggling to put food on the table and costs will only get worse with Labor’s Patients’ Tax.
“Labor’s Patients’ Tax will put more pressure on our emergency departments and drive up ambulance ramping and wait times.
“Queensland already has the highest ambulance ramping rate in the country.
“Nothing will change unless we change the government by voting for the LNP.
“This is the second tax the LNP will axe.
“We’ve already promised Queenslanders that stamp duty for first home buyers will be scrapped and now Labor’s Patients’ Tax will also be binned.
“Our state needs a fresh start and the LNP has the Right Plan for Queensland’s Future.”
