THE LNP Opposition will hold its 35th Queensland Health Crisis Town Hall in Pine Rivers this week as new figures show soaring ambulance ramping rates at the local hospital.
Leader of the Opposition David Crisafulli and Shadow Health Minister Ros Bates will listen to local health professionals and patients at the forum in Brisbane’s north this Thursday.
Pine Rivers residents have watched their health services decline over the past eight years under the chaos and crisis of the Palaszczuk Labor Government.
New figures show ambulance ramping at Prince Charles Hospital has soared to 50% while 40% of patients presenting to the Emergency Department weren’t seen within the clinically recommended time.
Leader of the Opposition David Crisafulli said the Pine Rivers community deserved better.
“Our fantastic communities in Brisbane’s north are growing but health services simply haven’t kept up,” Mr Crisafulli said.
“You know there’s a crisis when one out of every two patients who arrive at the local hospital are waiting too long for treatment on ambulance ramps.
“It’s simply not good enough.
“Health care is in crisis in Brisbane’s north because the Palaszczuk Labor Government has failed to plan and deliver for eight years.”
“The frontline healthcare staff across the area are doing an incredible job with what they’ve got.
“But they’re being let down by a Government who will not listen to them.
“We will take the stories from Pine Rivers straight to the floor of Parliament House to demand action and change.
“We’ll be putting our solutions on the table including better resources, better triaging, sharing data in real-time and putting doctors and nurses back in charge to improve patient care.
“I’m looking forward to listening to the Pine Rivers community at the Queensland Health Crisis Town Hall this week.”
