Air con backflip, Currumbin launch, New domestic violence laws, victory in Tallebudgera Valley  and more…

This month saw the official launch of the Currumbin campaign, a complete backflip on air-conditioning from the Labor Government and new domestic violence laws proposed by the LNP. Locally, I’ve been busy visiting schools, sporting clubs, attending events and keeping busy as always!

Read below to find out more about our air conditioning victory and other community news. Please don’t hesitate to get in touch with any local issues via email, and keep up to date via my Facebook.

Student Presentations

This month I was lucky enough to meet with the Year 12 leaders of Somerset College, the Year 12 leaders at Hillcrest college and to present certificates and badges to the very deserving students at Mudgeeraba Creek State School, Springbrook State School and Robina State School. Well done all!

Ridong Victory

After protesting against the new Ridong Development, we have had a victory with council choosing to vote against the development late last month. We will continue to fight for the people of the Tallebudgera Valley! Please sign the petition .

Thank a Firey Day

It is fair to say that our firefighters have looked after us this summer. In one of the worst fire seasons we have seen to date, they have worked tirelessly to keep us safe. We are so grateful for all the work they do and I will continue to support them as best I can. See the LNP’s 10 point fire plan :

New DV Laws

Late last month I met with Tara Brown’s mother Natalie Hinton, Shadow Attorney General David Janetzki and LNP Candidate for Currumbin Laura Gerber to announce the LNP’s new, tougher domestic violence law changes. Read more here: http://bit.ly/2TLumbj

Currumbin Campaign Launched!

Opposition Leader Deb Frecklington and I were proud to attend LNP candidate for Currumbin, Laura Gerber’s campaign launch late last month.

Laura has proven herself to be a highly capable local candidate and I am very confident in her ability to serve the people of Currumbin. You can follow her activities on Facebook here.

Air Conditioning Backflip

Just last month the Labor Government said we don’t need air conditioning on the Gold Coast because the ‘sea breeze’ will cool our children down. After a complete backflip this month they are now planning to adopt the LNP’s plan to air condition all state schools across Queensland.

The LNP committed to air conditioning every state school in Queensland years ago. We all know that cool kids are smart kids and this is a victory after we pushed for so long to make this happen. To make sure Labor follows through please sign our

Debt and Unemployment Rising Under Labor

Unfortunately we are still seeing debt and unemployment figures rising in Queensland under the Palaczszuk/Trad Labor Government. Queenslanders deserve better and only the LNP will deliver the strong economy needed to sustain our beautiful state. See the LNP’s economic plan here.
