THIS month marks yet another major delivery failure of the Palaszczuk Labor Government and their chaotic rollout of their so-called “satellite hospitals.”

On the 19th of May, 2021, Premier Palaszczuk promised:

“I’ve given the Department a two year timeframe to get the satellite hospitals up and running.”

Since then:

• It’s been revealed the Department warned the Premier not to call the facilities “hospitals” because it was misleading and raised safety concerns but she did not listen.
• The budget has blown out by $110 million.
• In the middle of the Queensland Health Crisis the Premier’s promised timelines have blown out again.
• It’s been revealed the facilities are not what was promised at the 2020 election.
• The facilities are not hospitals and have no overnight beds or emergency departments.

The LNP would deliver these facilities in government but will ensure the multipurpose medical centres are appropriately named for their communities.

Unlike the worst Health Minister in the country Yvette D’Ath, the LNP will be open and honest with Queenslanders. The facilities are not hospitals.

The chaotic Palaszczuk Labor Government has demonstrated again it will do and say anything to try and cling to power after nearly a decade in office.

Is it any wonder Queenslanders no longer trust the Palaszczuk Labor Government to run the health system.

Queenslanders deserve better.
