I welcome the announcement today that all vaccination clinics across Queensland will now accept walk-ins and be open longer.

Queensland is at the back of the pack in the vaccination race and we’re on track to be the last state in the country to get our freedom back.

Any move that sees more Queenslanders have greater access to vaccinations is a step in the right direction.

I’ve long been calling for more options for Queenslanders to get vaccinated.

It’s our ticket to freedom and our pathway out of the pandemic.

I’d still like to see more clinics open, particularly in our rural and remote, and Indigenous communities, and we should also offer drive-through clinics.

It is another way to support Queenslanders in their efforts to get vaccinated as quickly and as safely as possible.

It works in other states, so why not do it here?

We need more Queenslanders to get vaccinated and we need the government to help them do it.
