THEY’RE the two photos the State Government doesn’t want you to see.

2:59pm on Friday 10th June 2022 at Bundaberg Hospital.

You can see six vehicles ramped in the driveway.

Paramedics then have no choice but to use the street as a makeshift car park, forcing one ambulance to mount the curb.

Leader of the Opposition David Crisafulli responded to the photos while door knocking in Biggenden for this Saturday’s Callide by-election.

Mr Crisafulli said the Bundaberg health crisis has reached unchartered territory.

“We’ve put our solutions on the table and it’s time for the State Government to start listening,” he said.

“Better resources, better triaging, sharing data in real time and above all put Wide Bay doctors and nurses back in charge.

“The State Government boasts about a record health budget, but their record on health is appalling.

“Wide Bay residents deserve a world class health system.”

Shadow Health Minister Ros Bates said Bundaberg locals were promised better healthcare at the last election.

“The State Government promised Bundaberg a level 5 hospital, but after their election win, those plans were torn up.

“These new pictures of ramping from Friday afternoon show just how bad the problem is.”

LNP Candidate for Callide Bryson Head said so many communities in the electorate rely on Bundaberg Hospital.

“The flow on affect from ambulance ramping in Bundaberg affects regional towns,” he said.

“One of the key reasons why the Bundaberg Hospital is under pressure with ambulance ramping and long wait times is because services in places like Biggenden are now longer satisfactory for their growing communities.

“The State Government needs to admit there is a problem, then fix the problem.”
