LNP commits $50,000 to clean up the Mudgeeraba Creek

The LNP has committed $50,000 to restoring Mudgeeraba Creek in the Gold Coast hinterland for the benefit of local residents if elected.

Member for Mudgeeraba Ros Bates said the local area would benefit from an enhanced environment for the community to enjoy.

“The poor state of Mudgeeraba Creek has been a huge issue for locals and after I was elected, I kept raising it with the former Labor Government, who just kept passing the buck on our local environment,” said Ms Bates.

Mudgeeraba resident Lucy Moss said she was pleased to see progress being made.

“The creek runs right past our house, but we’ve never been able to use it because no one wants to clean out the sludge and make it safe.”

“It’s great to see we’re finally going to get the funding we need to see the creek restored and have another environmental attraction saved in the local area.”
