Member for Mudgeeraba, Ros Bates MP said following years of Labor doing nothing, local ‘People Power’ had finally won out in the Numinbah.
“Numinbah families with children at our little school know what a serious risk to the community the lack of flashing school lights was,” said Ms. Bates.
“Over three consecutive Ministers for Main Roads and Police, our community has fought tooth and nail to get these much-needed lights.”
“The flashing school zone signage will encourage motorists to slow down during school times.”
Numinbah Valley resident Peter Yaun said the renewed effort to stop speeding was needed for the Hinterland.
“Hoons run amok out here out, and every day we see motorists doing 100km per hour outside the school, not 40km per hour,” said Mr. Yaun.
“Ros has championed this cause for us for years, and today, finally we are seeing our lights been installed.”
