Member for Mudgeeraba Ros Bates has welcomed the arrival of additional lanes over the M1 overpass at Reedy Creek set to become available through changes to traffic arrangements at the Exit 84 Interchange and Stapley Drive.

“These new works build on the almost $2 million of improvements to local roads and road infrastructure recently delivered in the area,” Ms Bates said.

“We’ve made a dent in congestion through the additional lanes and traffic signals introduced to the roundabout at Old Coach Road, but there’s still more to be done.”

This month will see the creation of dual westbound lanes on Stapley Drive on the western side of the Exit 84 off ramp by changing one of the two eastbound lanes to a westbound lane.

The remaining single eastbound lane will become dual lanes east of the Exit 84 off ramp.

Mid 2014 will see the provision of an additional right hand turning lane on the southbound off ramp at Exit 84. This change will create dual right hand turning lanes on the off ramp which will feed into the new dual westbound lanes on Stapley Drive created by stage one works.

Stage one works will occur over 1 or 2 nights starting Tuesday 21 January 2014, site and weather conditions permitting. The start date for stage two works is yet to be confirmed but currently expected to be in the April 2014 school holidays.
