THE Palaszczuk Government must explain why it is rolling out its new patients’ tax in the middle of the Queensland Health Crisis.

The Palaszczuk Government’s new patients’ tax will push up costs Queenslanders pay to see a GP. It is that simple.

This is a bad tax from a Government running a broken budget and now raiding every honey pot it can find.

GPs will be forced to shut their doors or charge patients more to see the doctor. That is already happening.

This will put even more pressure on our hospitals that have deteriorated over eight years.

During the election campaign the Palaszczuk Government promised 26 times, “no new or increased taxes.”

The Palaszczuk Government imposed a renters’ tax in the middle of a housing crisis and now they are rolling out a patients’ tax in a health crisis.

The cost of this new tax and broken promise will fall at the feet of patients who cannot afford it.
