ANNASTACIA Palaszczuk has failed to publicly rule out sacking embattled Health Minister Yvette D’Ath in Parliament today.
When asked directly if the Premier will sack her Health Minister, she didn’t back her.
The Premier was offered three minutes to support her Health Minister, but instead sat down after 15 seconds.
Shadow Health Minister Ros Bates said this third term government is in open warfare and in utter chaos.
“The Premier won’t sack or back her Health Minister and Gladstone MP Glenn Butcher has threatened to quit if local maternity services aren’t restored,” Ms Bates said.
“Yvette D’Ath is losing the support of her colleagues and Queenslanders can no longer trust her to fix the Queensland Health Crisis.
“Today, D’Ath shamefully failed to rule out if other Queensland Hospitals are placing women who have experienced the loss of a child in the same wards as newborns and their celebrating parents.
“The Health Minister promised this practice would stop a year ago, and it didn’t.
“The Opposition is raising these issues on behalf of women who are demanding answers after the practice was exposed at the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital.
“For the Palaszczuk Government to refuse to answer those questions is despicable.
“The Palaszczuk Government is not only refusing to provide answers to Queenslanders, they’re now refusing to listen to their questions.
“Queensland deserves better.”
