Flashing school zone lights will be installed outside Springbrook State School on Springbrook Road by September in a move that will enhance student safety by warning motorists to slow down during school zone times.
Member for Mudgeeraba Ros Bates said the installation of the flashing school zone lights delivered on another election commitment to the Springbrook community.
“In January, I visited Springbrook State School and committed to installing flashing school zone lights if I was re-elected,” said Ms Bates.
“I am pleased to announce I have delivered on another election commitment and flashing school zone lights will be installed by September.
“Flashing school zoned lights will make our students safer by reminding local motorists to slow down and take care in this busy local school zone.”
Springbrook State School P&C Treasurer Sean Beasley said the flashing school zone lights would enhance student safety at Springbrook.
“Springbrook State School is on a busy main road, and it’s important that we remind motorists to slow down and take care. Flashing school zone lights will do just that,” he said.
