YEPPOON locals are preparing to share their stories at a Queensland Health Crisis Town Hall to be held in Yeppoon tomorrow.
The Health Crisis Town Hall will be hosted by Leader of the Opposition David Crisafulli at the Yeppoon RSL tomorrow.
Already dozens of residents have registered for the event.
Mr Crisafulli and Shadow Health Minister Ros Bates are looking forward to meeting with locals to hear their stories and experiences about local healthcare.
Mr Crisafulli said it was an opportunity for locals to speak with the State Opposition, have their stories taken to the floor of Parliament House and work together to heal the Queensland Health Crisis.
“The LNP has held over twenty Health Crisis Town Halls across Queensland,” Mr Crisafulli said.
“We are listening to the experiences of Queenslanders so we can work to deliver better health care in our regions.
“We’ve had some wins along the way, including locals finally getting a crucial specialist appointment, or even surgery after years of delays.
“Ros Bates and I look forward to listening to locals, so we can work together for better regional healthcare.”
Ms Bates said health services in regional areas had deteriorated over the last seven years under the Palaszczuk Government.
“What residents in Yeppoon and right across the region are experiencing is simply not good enough,” she said.
“We are listening to their calls for a better health system and we are determined to deliver it.
“The LNP has put solutions on the table including more beds, better triage and giving power back to the frontline staff to make better decisions to improve patient care.
“The Palaszczuk Government must start listening because all Queenslanders no matter where they live should have access to a world-class healthcare system and right now they don’t.
“Queenslanders deserve better than the Palaszczuk Government.”
