It is one of the core responsibilities of a state government to run our public hospitals.
Yvette D’Ath would do well to remember that.
The embattled Minister for Health is losing control of heath care but instead of announcing an inquiry into Queensland Health she believes the private sector should be investigated.
It is vital that our private health sector runs smoothly but on the face of it this appears to be an underhanded attempt to pass the buck by a Minister trying to cover up her own failings.
Queensland Health is in crisis. Ambulance ramping is soaring, hospitals are falling into code yellows nearly every day, surgical waiting lists are blowing out, waiting lists for the waiting lists are reaching unprecedented levels and we have multiple public hospitals under a cloud of botched surgeries or procedures.
Rather than being focused on fixing the Health Crisis, the Health Minister is using parliament to try and pass responsibility to everyone else but herself.
She is clearly out of her depth, has no solutions and won’t be able to hide behind a politically driven review.”
