The LNP has committed $150,000 to upgrade tourism and visitor signage on Springbrook Mountain if elected next month.

LNP candidate for Mudgeeraba, Ms. Ros Bates MP said the $150,000 investment would ensure every taxpayer dollar is invested to deliver the maximum benefit.

“The LNP will restore respect for your money, delivering projects on time and on budget, with the Right Plan for Queensland’s Future.” Ms. Bates said.

“This announcement aims to provide upgraded signage to reduce congestion and confusion in the tourism hotspot.

“Parking in Springbrook for tourism is a major issue, with cars regularly parking on the side of the road. Signage would assist in directing visitors to The Settlement for parking.

“Queenslanders are currently paying far more and getting far less under Labor.

“The LNP aims to enhance the experience of Springbrook’s World Heritage rainforest. We plan to address a decade of Labor’s neglect of this unique environment. Tourists from around the world require clear signage, and accessible parking to enjoy the sights of the Hinterland fully,

“Clear signage will also help support the dozens of small businesses in this Springbrook community,” added Ms. Bates

“Time’s up for Labor’s expensive failures which have overseen $20 billion-plus in project cost blowouts, that could have instead delivered local infrastructure like the necessary signage needed for Springbrook.

Springbrook resident Ray Cavanough welcomed the announcement and said it would help to remove the confusion among visitors.

“Currently there is not enough signage for visitors to know where they can and can’t park. It’s frustrating for the locals that live here,” said Mr. Cavanough.

Ms. Bates said Queenslanders could vote for $150,000 in signage upgrades and a government focused on driving down cost pressures, by voting LNP at this election.

“Queenslanders must show Labor the door in 2024, to restore respect for their money,” Ms Bates said.

“Only the LNP stands ready to deliver a fresh start for Queensland.”
